250 ml bottle, as Hoegaarden Citron, thanks to tarjei. ABV is 3.0%. Very pale straw coloured, slightly hazy, big to moderate white head. Aroma of lemon and lime (as expected), also more unpleasant notes of rotting fruits and vomit. The flavour is sugary sweet and citrussy, without the zesty freshness I hoped for (considering the beer had already had the misfortune of being diluted with this citrus stuff). Nope, this is not a beer for me. Drainpour.

(33 cl bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV was 8.5%.). Cloudy brown with floaties, enormous thick creamy head. Lovely complex aroma of cherries, figs, prunes, spices, oak and sandalwood. Flavour is not quite as complex - malty, some fruit and spices, rather alcoholic, bitter finish. I wish the aftertaste had been as good as the aroma. A beer well above average, but not as good as I expected.

(33 cl bottle, bought in Denmark). Pours cloudy golden with floaties, large head. Strong yeasty and flowery sweet aroma , some spices (pepper) and herbs too. Flavour is fairly malty with a distinct peppery touch, hints of oak. Some alcoholic warmth, not unpleasant. Moderate but sufficient bitterness. Not bad at all.

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Golden colour, large head. Malty, oaky and vinous aroma. Malty sweet flavour, sugary, alcoholic. Too much on the sweet side.

This is a very refreshing witbier, citrus and yeast aroma, pleasant flavour, subtle aftertaste. I liked it better bottled than on tap, should not be served too cold.

250 ml can, thanks to tarjei. ABV is 4.5%. Cloudy pink colour, big to moderate head with a pinkish hue. Strong sweetish aroma of ripe raspberries / raspberry jam. The flavour is sugary sweet with loads of ripe raspberries. Oh dear. Well, at least it is not as horrible as Hoegaarden Citron. I was able to finish this one.

Nov. 2014: 250 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.7%. Hazy straw colour, large to moderate white head. Strong wheaty and yeasty aroma of citrus / orange peel, coriander and cloves, hints of bananas. The flavour is citrussy and refreshing, followed by moderate spicy notes of coriander and cloves, banana in the finish. Very moderate hops.

330 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. Hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of orange peel and citric acid, hints of baby porridge, wort and apple extract. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements, no sign of coriander, nor any hop bitterness.

(Sampled 0,5 liter bottle) Cloudy light golden beer with sediment, good head. Lovely spicy and fruity aroma that promises more than the flavour keeps. Dry, mildly spicy. Short aftertaste. Not bad, but there are better Weissbiers around.

(500 ml bottle, bought in Norway). Filtered wheat beer, like the name says crystal clear, very light golden, enormous head. Strong aroma of ripe bananas (or rather: the artificial "banana" filling you get in some chocolates + bubble gum), cloves too. Banana, cloves and hops in the flavour - but there's just too little of everything. Why filter away the goodies? Very short aftertaste.

(Sampled 500 ml bottle, bought in Norway). This is a decent Helles with a pleasant aroma. Flavour and aftertaste are OKish, but far from exceptional. Probably better on tap - or maybe all the "Bierkeller" hype is misleading?

(500 ml bottle, bought in Norway.) Pours with the typical large & lingering weissbier head, colour of the beer is brown, not black as the name suggests. Slightly hazy. Pleasant aroma of fresh baked bread and weissbier yeast, hints of dark syrup and caramel. Flavour has a slight roastiness and some farmhouse bread character, smooth and pleasant to drink, but not very complex. Just enough hops to leave a pleasant aftertaste, but like most weissbiers the aftertaste does not last "forever". This is a decent but unpretentious beer, a nice accompaniment with a meal or as a refreshment on its own.

Bottle, ABV 3.2%, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Hazy golden colour, big to moderate head. Pleasant aroma of cloves and banana. Thin body. The flavour has some citrus and cloves. Refreshing, but boring for a Hefe-Weissbier.

440 ml can, batch #487, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.5%. Slightly hazy reddish brown colour, moderate to small head, slightly off-white. Nice lacing. Aroma and flavour of malts with a hint of caramel, earthy and herbal hops. Medium dry, a hint of dark berries. Pleasant to drink.

Moderately fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is medium dry, with citric and slightly piney hops. Moderate to low bitterness. Decent beer, but not exceptional.

440 ml can, batch #373, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, large white head. Nice aroma of floral, fruity (citrus and yellow stonefruits) and herbal hops. Light bodied. Decent hoppy flavour, fruity first, with a decent herbal, spicy and piney finish, acceptable bitterness.

440 ml can, from Helgø MENY Hundvåg. ABV is 4.7%. My Norwegian beer No. 4000 (well, that number includes a few ciders, meads and sakes). Slightly hazy golden to orange colour, large white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, hints of citrus and coconut, maybe not quite as fresh as desirable. Flavour of citrus and some tropical fruits, hints of sprucetips, low bitterness. Okay, but not the best in this series.

440 ml can, from Birk Bryggeriutsalg, as Hogna Calcutta "Session IPA" #042 Fresh hop Citra. ABV is 4.7%. Moderately hazy golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citric hops, hints of pine and spruce. The flavour has the same elements, with a noticeable bitterness in the finish.

440 ml can, as Hogna Calcutta "Session IPA" #043 Olicana & Harlequin, from Birk Bryggeriutsalg, Klepp. ABV is 4.7%. Cloudy / opaque yellow to orange colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of peaches, apricots and oranges, hints of tropical fruits. Good mouthfeel for its ABV. Pleasant flavour of said fruits, not too sweet, well balanced, with a decent bitterness in the finish. Might well buy again.

Aroma of malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar syrup, dark dried fruits and mild spices. The flavour has the same elements, but is not too sweet. Also notes of oak. Moderate hops in the finish.

August 2020: 440 ml can, batch #188, from Det Gode Brygg, Sandnes. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy. Moderate to small white head. Nice aroma of citric and spicy hops, hints of tropical fruits. Citric mouthfeel, light bodied. The flavour has citric, herbal and spicy hops, moderate bitterness. Refreshing.

440 ml can, from Coop Mega Madla Handelslag. ABV is 4.7%. Golden brown colour, moderate white head. Aroma of caramel, yeast, juniper twigs and pine. The flavour is not too sweet, but has a hint of caramel. Distinct notes of yeast, juniper twigs and pine. Medium bitter. Not a beer I'll buy again.
