Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, bought in Riga. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Pleasant fruity and flowery aroma. Relatively sweet pale lager flavour, light bodied and thin, hints of fruit and honey, low bitterness. Far from exciting, but not offensive either. |

254 | Aldaris Kviesu | Latvia | Hefeweizen | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap in Riga. Cloudy golden colour, moderate head for a hefeweizen. Not served in appropriate glass. Basically a typical hefeweizen aroma and flavour, with strong notes of cloves - but the flavour is somewhat less fruity than many other h.w.s. Nice enough, but the finish is rather bland. |

256 | Aldaris Porteris | Latvia | Baltic Porter | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 (500 ml bottle). Dark ruby colour. Good light tan head. Interesting vinous aroma of raisins, blackberries, ensilage, seaweed and some coffee. Full, rich and smooth flavour - but unfortunately too sweet. Like a good cup of coffee with too much sugar. Syrup battles with a nice roastiness in the aftertaste. Still, an interesting Latvian aquaintance - well worth sampling. |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 375 ml slim bottle, from the cidery. ABV is 10%. Clear deep golden to orange colour, no carbonation. Intense and lovely aroma of ripe dessert apples and concentrated apple juice. Even more intense and sweet flavour - again obvious notes of ripe dessert apples and concentrated apple juice, but also with qualities that can compete with the finest dessert wines like Sauternes or Tokajer. |

267 | Alechemy Ruskie Business Russian Imperial Oatmeal Stout | United Kingdom | Imperial Stout | 3.1
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 August 2014: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Black colour, moderate tan head. The aroma is not impressive for an imperial stout, some unwanted "green apples" and "chemical" notes mask the expected roasty notes. Some liquorice in the background. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, lightly sweet with distinct roasty notes, some coffee and liquorice, but still not the best IS I’ve had. |

274 | Alesmith / Mikkeller / Stone Belgian Style Tripel Ale | United States | Abbey Tripel | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.7%. Golden colour, big white head. Lovely aroma of Belgian yeast, fruity esters, spices and floral and fruity hops. The flavour is spicy and yeasty with a sweet and fruity body, and a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. Only drawback is that the alcohol is not particularly well hidden, so if you get drunk on this beer, you understand why. Still a beer I’ll be happy to drink again! |
