July 19, 2010
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
473ml can
5.5% ABV
$1.75
The beer poured a translucent gold with no head. The aroma is grainy malt, vomit, and acid. The mouthfeel is weak bodied, almost watery, with medium carbonation. The flavour is awful...acidic, with some malt and sour hints. Avoid.

May 10, 2023
Beer Store #2021 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
275ml bottle
5.2% ABV
Bottled On: December 31, 2022
$2.16
I never heard of this beer until a week or so ago when watching somebody sample it on youtube, and lo and behold, it’s suddenly available in 6 packs at one of my local Beer Stores. The beer pours a translucent very pale gold colour with a short lived white bubbly head and plenty of effervescence. The aroma is grains, musty hops, and light yeast. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grains, some yeast, a weak light fruit note, and a mild bitter finish. It’s not very good at all.

341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
May 23, 2019
Gift
This was a gift from a colleague and former friend. The beer pours a translucent pale straw colour with a bubbly white head. Effervescence is minimal, although the head lasts a few minutes. The aroma is stale cardboard, grass, and musty hops. Better than your average macro, but not in the same class as most craft pale lagers. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is sweet corn malt, with very little in the way of a bitter hop finish. I will not be trying this beer again......ever!

Brewed At: Stroh Canada Limited / Sleeman Brewing and Malting Company
473ml can
4.9% ABV
Canned On: March 28, 2019
LCBO # 457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
May 8, 2019
$2.20
The beer pours a translucent pale straw colour with a huge generous bubbly white head which disappears faster than the blink of an eye. Effervescence is larger than normal bubbles. One could easily read the newspaper through this beer. The aroma is corn, grass, alcohol, and weak earthy hops. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt with a bitter hop finish. My first BMC product in ages, and it will be ages before I try another one.

473ml can
4.9% ABV
Queen's Quay LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
March 9, 2011
The beer poured a clear gold colour with a short-lived thin white head. The aroma was sweet grainy malt, weak hops, and unknown foul smells. The mouthfeel was weak bodied/hollow, with mild carbonation. The flavour was corn, sweet malt, and gunky tasting stuff. Quite sickening actually.

473ml can
4.0% ABV
Queen's Quay LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
April 9, 2012
The beer poured a translucent pale gold colour with a short lived white head, and plenty of effervescence. The aroma is very similar to Sprite/7-Up with some graininess and a weak hint of tea. Certainly not enough of a tea hint to convince me it's a 'tea flavoured' beer. Mouthfeel is watery and mildly carbonated. Flavour is gross. Definitely more tea flavour than aroma. Some acidic notes, some grain, and weak citrusy sweetness. Definitely a beer to avoid.

473ml can
5.0% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
December 30, 2007
This beer pours a beautiful translucent light reddish gold colour with a huge fluffy white head. The aroma was very weak with no discernable notes of anything. The mouthfeel was watery and highly carbonated. The flavour was also very weak. No discernable taste of malt, hops, honey...or even grain. If it wasn't for the frothy head and the words 'beer' and 'biere' on the cand, I would have thought with was coloured water. I'm convinced the $1.75 I paid was $1.74 too much.

2387 Yanjing Beer China Pale Lager 1.6

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

330ml bottle
4.5% ABV
I tried this beer on October 3, 2008 at “Smokeless Joe’s” in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent gold, with almost a thin white head. The aroma was all grainy malt with a hint of hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was very grassy…all malt, very little hops. I tried a mouthfeel of this during the Olympics and was quite surprised at how bad it was. Having a full bottle reminds me that there’s nothing here to threaten the craft beer industry.

473ml can
4.2% Abv
Canned On: March 20, 2018
Main/Thompson LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
April 30, 2018
$2.35
The beer poured a very clear light gold colour with a very small white ring for a head. Only a month old and no head, not off to a good start. The aroma is very faint with hints of musty grains and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, very crisp, and above average carbonation. The flavour is non-existant. It tastes like highly carbonated water with a hint of grains, just a hint. It’s not ‘off flavours’ like most macro lagers, there just is no discernable flavour. Aside from the mouthfeel, there is nothing to make me think this is a beer.

The aroma is grains and popcorn. The mouthfeel is light bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is light grains, dishsoap, but in general is very weak, the so-called beer flavoured water.

2392 Patagonia Argentina Pale Lager 1.5

Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3

330ml bottle
4.9%
I tried this beer on August 31, 2007 at the Smokeless Joe's in Toronto. The beer poured a very pale translucent yello colour with a thin head that dissipated quickly. The aroma was weakly grassy with a hint of malt. The mouthfeel was thin and crisp with some mild carbonation. The taste was very reminiscent of the grassy/rice taste associated with a lot of other pale lagers. Not a beer I would try again or recommend to my friends (or my enemies).

There was a lot of effervescence. The aroma was very grassy with a hint of both malt and hops. The mouthfeel was crisp and thin with some mild carbonation. The taste was similar to other pale lagers with grassy tones. Another beer I didn't enjoy and would not push onto my friends.

September 4, 2007
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
330ml bottle
4.8% ABV
$1.85
This was one of the worst beers I have ever tasted. It poured into the glass smoothly with a small white head. The colour was a translucent gold with TONS of effervescence. The aroma was putrid...........too much like budwesier. The mouthfeel was very thin and watery, none of the carbonation as seen in the glass. The taste was very reminiscent of North American pale lagers as well..........

500ml can
5.0% ABV Queen's Quay LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
June 28, 2008
The beer poured a translucent pale yellow, probably the palest yellow I have ever seen on a non-North American product. The head was white, bubbly, and disappeared quickly to a ring. The aroma was stale grainy malt and not much else. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The taste was more stale grains and a little hoppish bitterness. Nothing I'll buy again.

The beer poured a translucent light gold colour with a huge genourous short-lived white head. The aroma was very citrusy mixed with hints of sewage. The mouthfeel was watery with mild carbonation (despite the apparent effervescence in the glass). The flavour was weak lime, old grains, and metal. Not enjoyable, and nothing I would ever buy for myself!
