A bit hazy, but I can't be sure how fresh it was. Otherwise it compares to most mass market lagers with perhaps a bit more hop bitterness. I would only buy this again if it were offered for a bargain price.

This seems closer to a Christmas brew than a classic Abbey Dubbel to me. I liked it and will try it again. I opened this just minutes after driving home and was impressed by the well balanced perception of spice on the nose and on the tongue.

Had this fresh in Poperinge during the Hopfest. Despite the name which translates to Hop beer in the local dialect, the brew had only a subtle aroma and taste of hops. It was well balanced and quite drinkable.

Has more hop bitterness than Budweiser. Unlike some of the other reviewer's I didn't detect any skunkiness or off odors. A slightly better than average lager. I'd buy it over Bud or Miller at the same price.

Bought 3 cases of this and have enjoyed the changes over the course of a year. Initially had very pronounced aroma hops and an appropriate level of bitterness for a strong beer. A good balance of malt and hops with a complex layering of flavors. Over time the aroma hops have receded but the beer's complexity seems to have increased. Best not to have this too cold or you'll miss out on the subtlety of the flavors.
