as far as IPAs go, this is one of my favorites, along w/ Stone and Speakeasy and Racer5. The color on this one is deep for an IPA, reddish hue to it, and the aromas are complex. Higly hopped dry, with the citrus tannin smell and some honyesuckle to boot. mouthfeel was shooting and richocheting off the inners of every surface of my mouth. another hop-head's delight.

hop heads heaven. this is the shiz. the aromas are so heavenly hoppy-high, it gives me goosebumps. beyond floral. sweetcitrusgrapefruitblossompinedatedopeyhoney swirled into an ethereal bliss. the color of the ale is nothing special. mouthfeel is mouthwatering bittoreal salivaspouting. if you like hops you'll love this. One of the best IPAs i've had. if you do like this, then you must try Speakeasy's Big Daddy IPA, and Hoptown's IPA.

i like em hoppy. this is great because although it's high on hops, it's not high in alcohol content. In fact, it's one of the lower alcohol per hops ales out there. most high hoppy ales (IPAs) are also higher than average in alcohol content, especially if they are super hoppy. So, me being a hophead, it's nice to have a nice reliable, well crafted, hopped-up ale on hand, and at a very friendly price i might add, to have around to suck on with out getting mushy after drink a few. regarding the price, it's friendly only if you purchase it *as* mission street pale ale at TraderJoe's (4.99/6pk) rather than as Firestone Pale Ale (8.49/6pk). Now, if only i could find out where to purchase "missioin street's 'double barrel' ale". hehe

i usually like to stick to microbrews and occasionally belgium beers. But this beer is truly a classic of classics. It is by all means the original pilsner beer. If you get a chance to drink this from draught at a good pub, take it. buying it in bottles, you may get a package that was taken care of or not, so the results will vary accordingly. When i'm in the mood for a "lighter" (hehe) beer, this is my choice. perfection for the category. oh, yes there are other excellent pilsners, but this is the uniquely excellent one.

Dark malty, nutty aroma. Deep amber red color. Very nice, thick head. More malty than hoppy, but very nicely balanced. CAn't go wrong with this ale. it's a sturdy, tasty, well-crafted beer.
