This beer tries very hard to convince you that it is good. The aroma isn't offensive, it pours with a beautiful, lasting head and it's mouthfeel isn't terrible...yet the flavor and aftertaste are like sucking on wet burlap.

An anacronistic beer for me...pretty much average in most ways but the combination of it's characteristics really works for me. Not a beer I'd drink across an evening, but when I need something with a good, malty taste and silky mouthfeel to wake up my tastebuds...Beck's Dark is a good choice (if nothing superior is available.)

Always a choice for me for a change of pace. Pours nicely and has decent head retention with a sweet, fruity aroma and balanced flavor. Very drinkable and satistying...always tastes like another one would be a fine idea!

Hard to find but among some of the best dark wheat beers I've had. Deep malty flavor with the typical sweet/sour tang typical of wheat beers, yet not so overpowing as to be undrinkable.

Having worked for 10 years for a Japanese company, I ended up in Japanese restaurants quite often. I much prefer Sapporo but the Asahi Super Dry was usually my choice with meals simply because of it's ability to cleanse the palate and leave little lingering flavor. With the delicate tastes of Japanese cooking, this was always a good choice with food but otherwise it is rather uninteresting.
