EXTRA GOLD LAGER is back in CNY !!!

General Beer Discussion by KENDOSURF

[:0] HUH ?!? Do mine eyes deceive me?? [;)] T'is true! In with the 13.49 bt&d Genesee & Genny Light were two 30 racks of 12.99 Extra Gold. Better price, better beer...my pedestrian beer purchase plans immediately evaporated. [8)] They bumped up the price by one dollar, but... [8D] Still Coors, still tastes like it should, code OCT 0818. Is Genny distributing Extra Gold now? Or did the store just plop 'em there?? I dunno, but I sure ain't complainin'...[:D][^][:p]

Extra Gold Lager is a good-clean-round macro at a bargain price! What it's NOT is "exciting". Corona's stereotype = a lime wedge. IMO it works even better with Extra Gold. :) Try it, you might like it! :D And, you're getting nutrition. ;) https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/limes

Extra Gold's main appeals have been its low price, and also it's considered by many to be better than Coors Banquet. :) Saw Coors Banquet on sale; 16 oz can sixers for $3.99 bt&d. Wow...can't remember the last time I drank Coors Banquet? Slightly to the sweet side, smooth. Nothing wrong with it. Watched a few online reviews; one taster said there was a banana note which Coors website acknowledged. I hadn't picked up on it until the next time I cracked one open. First sip...there was a taste note of bananas, and then that review came to mind. Still, Extra Gold has a bit more flavor and seemingly, slightly fuller body. I'd drink Banquet again, and may buy some more if it's on sale. But I'd pick Extra Gold over Banquet.

A caveat on that Coors Banquet. This brew isn't suitable for consumption except when it's cold. No bad flavors, but it's very fizzy and watery...like a beer-flavored seltzer. :( Extra Gold doesn't fall apart like that as it warms. ;)
