Attention Computer Geeks....Locked?

Non-Beer Discussion by KENDOSURF

I see a Topic Locked for the thread now; a glitch or did someone deliberately do that? [8D] Anyway, I wanted to recommend Comodo Dragon. It's less famous than many but it's solid! I have Comodo Secure DNS checkboxed to provide phishing and malware protection, and the browser is set to automatically start in Incognito Mode. My other security programs are independent of Comodo's own onboard options. [:D]I'm not savvy enough to be a Developer, but nevertheless I'm participating in Mozilla Firefox's Nightly (browser) e10s program. It crashes a lot and gets lots and lots of updates since it's a work in progress. I simply use it in an everyday manner.

[:)][^][8D] I must be doing something right !!! On Monday, I did extensive modifications to my pc. Dumped some programs, added others, made adjustments. Runs nice! Around Wednesday, the new Windows 10 suggested that I let it change EVERYTHING back to Windows Default Settings, and get rid of all those nasty third party programs. [:0] [:D][:D][:D][:D] HA HA HA HAHAHAHA HA HA !!!!!!! [:D][:D][:D] [8)] Uh...No, Microsoft...Thanks just the same. Oh btw...I have not brought any Malwarebytes programs back onboard yet.

[:)] I'm only an experienced amateur with the internet. Nevertheless I'll make a recommendation to all...GlassWire. BARNACULES is a former Microsoft employee whose video about WannaCry gave me a comprehensive crash course! You can find his links easily if interested. Today I'm posting his praises for GlassWire...and he's in good company on the subject. [;)] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ5qzg4xZiQ#t=557.183454 [8)] Admittedly I cannot make full use of this program because I'm not a techie. I installed it about 36 hours ago and have been online several times. I didn't remove or modify any of my other programs and there haven't been any compatibility issues AT ALL. [|)] With so much to distrust about cyberspace, it may be the wave of the future for individual rights and freedom online. Check this vid! [8D]

[^] Wanna stop your Windows OS from calling home...to tell Microsoft all about you, your passwords, your accounts, your interests, your browsing, and what you had for breakfast? https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot-anti-beacon/ [8D] Gotta Love It! Very, very simple to use, and it blocks whatever telemetry you choose to block !!! [;)] GlassWire is GREAT, but Spybot Anti-Beacon is FABULOUS. [:)][:)][:)]

I'm using PrivacyRepairer now. Same concept as SpyBot Anti-Beacon. [:)] Kinda cluttered looking About: page. Oh well...Securilla is the parent company. [8)] https://www.securilla.com/privacy-repairer#about Download: https://www.securilla.com/privacy-repairer

[:(] I very recently became aware of an On Again - Off Again feud between IObit and Malwarebytes, going back to at least 2009. Here's the latest: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/642319/malwarebytes-vs-iobit/ [:0] FOR NOW, and hopefully temporarily, I have substituted SUPERAntispyware for AdwCleaner. I don't want to keep deleting AdwCleaner's detections, to keep ASC from being removed. Ongoing updates desired/needed/requested...for all of us who appreciate BOTH IObit and Malwarebytes !!! [^] PS SUPERAntispyware seems like a very thorough free program on its own merits! [^]
Based on the testimonies, I eventually concluded that Malwarebytes was in the right. ASC, which I liked, had stolen from them. [:(] I haven't deleted all IObit programs, but I won't use ASC unless they resolve.

[:D] Well, I try/tried to be helpful! Surely you know that MANY MANY more Reads than Posts is the general rule. Gotta go with what ya know, and worry less about feedback stress. [;)]

I made a rather radical change to my security profile, because I discovered: http://www.evorim.com/en/free-firewall I deleted Comodo Free Firewall and PrivacyRepairer. They are both good, but Comodo is too restrictive. PrivacyRepairer stops most Microsoft telemetry...Free Firewall stops all Microsoft telemetry. [^] Afaik it's not famous, but it appears to be a great combo of Firewall and Telemetry Blocker.
