I looked over about the Worst 100 on the list, but i didn't see Stewart's mentioned? You know, that convenience store chain? They had $3.00 sixers of the most incredibly crappy undrinkable crap EVER. You think The Beast is bad? Man, you don't know what shitty piss in a can IS if you never sampled that horrible Stewart's stuff. Hardcore guzzlers were known to POUR THAT STUFF ON THE LAWN rather than finish a single can. Me, I DRANK AN ENTIRE SIX PACK for bragging rights! Not all in one sitting, mind you...but I DID drink THE ENTIRE SIXER!!! Awful, awful stuff. [xx(]
If it is as bad as all that, it looks like a Stewart's/Indian Wells trade is in order.[xx(][xx(]

[:D] I just went and read the Indian Wells reviews. All I can say in response is, "Putrid Rot" sums up that Stewart's Beer that my friend from downstate warned me about! Number ratings wouldn't exceed a 1 in any category. [V] At the time, Stewart's offered Stewart's Beer and Stewart's Ice Beer. Now they offer Mountain Ice and Mountain Light. Will I try 'em? Stewart's Ice was marginally drinkable.

[:D] Hi Foamy! And thanks. Nice to be back. A follow-up link to Stewart's current beers. Scroll down. I'm wondering if I can summon up enthusiasm and BUY some? Ew. [:0] http://www.stewartsshops.com/specials-flavors/beverages/
Today I went to Stewart's in Oswego NY and bought a six pack of Mountain Brew Light, and a six pack of Mountain Brew Ice. [:D] In spite of the memory of Stewart's Beer (HORRIBLE!) from about 6 years ago, I tried both of these products and sought web pages for each. https://untappd.com/b/genesee-brewing-company-mountain-brew-light/400657 http://www.ridiculousfoodsociety.com/2013_09_01_archive.html First I'll comment about the online info. Very convoluted and confusing. Seems that Genesee Brewing of Rochester NY was providing these beers to Stewart's, but now it's Associated Brewing Company, La Crosse WI. The newest can designs are what I have here, and the higher abv Ice is what the label states is in the can. Ergo, I presume I'm drinking a 5% abv Light & a 5.9% abv Ice. [:p] These are much better macro-swills than Stewart's Beer was. They are both drinkable. Light is bubbly and sweet when slightly chilled. I wouldn't have guessed it was allegedly 5% abv. When well chilled the flavor becomes less sweet, more evened out. This beer would go down quick and easy on a hot day. A decent cheap brew, imo. [;)] The Ice has a musty apple cider-y hint to it. There is sourness detectable. I'd say personal preference would be a big factor. Cool Cheapie, or Crap? All I can tell you is this...I'm drinking the second can, and I'm not yet sure whether I like it or not. That's a far cry from forcing down that DREADFUL Stewart's Beer From yesteryear, where I drank a whole sixer...just to go one up on the downstate crowd...who dumped that sh_tbeer on the lawn !!! [:D] Cheers. [8D]

My conclusion: Mountain Brew Light is alright. Mountain Brew Ice has a more distinct sour cider note. That may appeal to some. I like bitter in beer, but I'm less enthused about sour. All I can say is...try 'em fer yerself! [;)]

I'll put this post HERE. It's a good macro product. Labatt Prohibition Series Bourbon Barrel Ale. I don't know if they really store the beer in wooden bourbon casks, but it sure DOES taste like it! [:p] http://beerstreetjournal.com/labatt-bourbon-barrel-ale/ Wally World had this. It's new to me. Canadian beer from Rochester NY (Genesee Brewing, FYI if you aren't from CNY). The barrel flavor is distinct enough to either dissuade or convince. 'Nuff said. [8D][8D]

[:D] Sorry. It's just that Recent Standouts doesn't appear to be about BMC brews, and testimonies indicate that beer reviews aren't getting approved and posted. So, here I parked it ^ . [:I]

[^] Labatt Prohibition Series Apple Harvest Ale. It's co-stocked with the bourbon barrel ale. http://www.labattus.com/prohibition/ The ratings are all over the board on these two. They apparently are quite new. I'll simply state my opinion and leave the rest to you, the reader. [;)] Apple Harvest Ale is a good macro. I wouldn't call it a dessert drink; the apple flavor IS there, accompanied by some bitterness. I think the apple aroma is genuine, and the label claims "Ale with natural flavor added". I have no reason to doubt. Try it and you may like it. [:)] Btw: I read the bourbon ale label closely. "Ale brewed with bourbon barrel staves and with natural flavor added".
