duplication

Website Comments by SLOWRUNNER77

the Mikkeller Single Hop IPAs look to be gettin a little messy. Not just one, but several duplications. they're listed as "single hop", "hop series" AND/or "cascade ipa", "colombus ipa, etc... just thought you boys might like to combine them or come up with a consensus way to add the remaining ones. i added two that were not listed in any of those forms as Mikkeller Single Hop _______ IPA.

The consensus I have used is reading the labels on the bottles, as their original series was indeed called Single Hop, where as the new series is called Hop Series... The basic recipe is different in Single Hop vs Hop Series, hence some beers with the same hop are in both (Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe atleast AFAIR). The idea of Hop Series was to use the same basic recipe, and then just throw in the same amount of different hops in every brew (oz amount, not aiming at same IBU).

I've been priced out of Mikkeller. Rarely buy them anymore. Pat's knowledge sounds top notch, we'll chat about this in the crew forum and determine how to proceed.
