Upright Brewing

Brewery Discussion by FLASHPRO

First things first, I'm cooler than all of you because I'm hanging out at Upright Brewing right now. And since I'm here all by myself I'm going to keep myself occupied by blabbing here. This place is unlike any American brewery I've been to. Just getting here is a challenge. It's hidden in the basement of an old bank building with no sign outside and and a small chalk stand hint inside that you must take the elevator down to below. Luckily I did my research before hand because he building is also on a very strange triangle intersection of one way streets! Anyway, this place is known for their unique farmhouse and open fermentation tanks. The place very much reminds me of Cantillon brewery in Brussels. It has the same dingy (but clean) feel and is setup as a tasting room where you can chat and learn about the beer and brewery while you drink. Very cool. I'm glad it's so hard to find!

sounds cool. i dug their oyster stout, but have passed a few times on the saisons due to the price at citybeer in SF, so far the only place i've seen them (double digits +).

Lol my shoes could use a shine but they didn't have any lambics. The prices at the brewery are much more reasonable. $1.50 for a 5oz glass and $3 for a 12 oz glass. I bought 4 bottles (750ml) of their oddball stuff for $8-12 each.
