Huh...I've never had any speed issues...but it does take 3-5 seconds for a video to start, which is hardly a problem much less a deal-breaker.

This is topic 6167. We just had similar conversations at topics 6074 and 6108. My reply here might sound a bit familiar to some... I use IE at work because I have to (Government conspiracy), but at home, I usually have Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer up simultaneously. Why all three? I find that some stuff works better with certain browsers. --Chrome is great with Google and related stuff (YouTube, Gmail, Blogger, Google Talk). Chrome's fast. I like having 8-10 tabs open at the same time. I have a Droid phone and so all my contacts and applications are backed up on Google. I can post to Facebook, Twitter, and my Blog all from my phone, and so I also use Chrome for all social networking. Nothing beats the Google search algorithm. --Some sites I use often are optimized for IE (Citrix (connects to Pentagon server), Walden University, Blastoff (shopping), Hotmail (of course), and various peripherals like my HP printer or my WD backup that automatically seek updates). I think Hotmail has a pretty good junk filter, and I like to limit my exposure to credit card fraud and spammers so I tend to cluster my on-line shopping (eBay, PayPal, etc.) on IE. I do not know why Walden is optimized to IE, but it could be the same Microsoft payola that hooked Big Gummint. --For everything else, there's Firefox! I put all my banking stuff there. Version 4.0 just came out and it's sa-weet! Support the not-for-profit Mozilla by downloading Firefox free. Funny how the least "corporate" of the big three providers is far-and-away the most customer-focused. My ISP is Cox Communications. I have a Global Home Page on Cox--it's the hub of my eLife. I want to access all my stuff from one dashboard. That dream is materializing slowly. The thought is that Cox provides my portal to the ether, and I should be able to access all sites using various browsers with no loss of speed. Eventually I want all of my data stored securely and backed up on servers which I can access 24/7 from any connected computer or phone. So I plagiarize myself--doesn't everyone?

Safari & Chrome mostly. The occasional Firefox or Opera if I need it, but that's very rare. And you can forget IE on this Mac. That won't happen.[;)]

I was waiting for a Mac owner to show up! I hear Safari is good. My brother swears by it. Haven't heard much about Opera. Why do people like Safari better than Opera? Why would one keep Opera around at all? Just a curious PC
