Flooded Beer

Non-Beer Discussion by FLASHPRO

Son of a b*tch. Some jerk unplugged the sump pump in front of my condo again and this time I didn't find out until after it rained :(. The window well outside my basement fills up with water because the ground slopes down into the front of the house and they only put drains in front of the door. They put in a sump pump that drains into the storm drain to solve the problem. Unfortunately, the sump pump in the floor of the basement goes right out the window into the window well, so there are 2 pumps working in series. I'd like to slap the idiot that did that. Anyway, landscapers or someone seems to like unplugging the window pump, which plugs in to the front of the house on my circuit. It rained the last 2 days and we woke up this morning to find half the basement in a puddle of water and all my cases of beer are ruined! Looks like I finally get to sort through all my empties haha. My wife has been bugging me about it because when we moved in I just tossed about 300 bottles into the corner of the basement. I'm trying to take inventory and then I'll take pics of them before tossing them and then I can put some on the site. Sorry about this rant. I had to vent! My brother told me you can buy locks that go around electrical outlets. I'll have to look into it.

In Reply To #1 It was your wife, she wanted to give you a reason to look through the bottles. Don't give in! It's a matter of principle! Here's a thought. Take two non plastic coated paperclips and stretch them out. Wrap each around opposite prongs on the sub pumps plug once, and stretch the rest out on opposit sides of the plug, kind of underneath the plug. Be careful not to be touching the papaer clips, and plug it in. I'd be pretty confident that no one will unplug it again, although it may blow a fuse, just once though.

In Reply To #2 LOL, yeah that might solve the problem. And maybe you're right about my wife! It just happened to happen the first weekend I've been home in 4 weeks. Hmmm
