General Beer Discussion by OIZNOP

As if Pittsburgh's finest beverage were not bad enough, now they are going to start selling it in Aluminum bottles... www.postgazette.com/pg/04237/366764.stm This is how it is when you have a massive water bill staring you in the face that needs to be paid up by the end of September....This brewery just makes me shake my head all the time!

In Reply To #1 Eh, aluminum doesn't give any flavors to the beer, since it's coated in a thin layer of vinyl that lends absolutely no flavor the the beer. I would be surprised if this was a resolution for paying a bill, as the initial cost to start bottling in aluminum was probably pretty pricey. That said, I think it's a gimmick. They claim it will be popular with campers and beach goers who can't have glass on the beach, but they also have cans, don't they? So lets examine the motive a little better. Ah, here it is: "Other than that, they're just really cool looking." - Pittsburgh Brewing Vice Chairman I see, well, I guess I can't blame him. I DID buy a can of Sapporo just for the can.
