General Beer Discussion by COTTRELL

Holy crap. I'll be in PA next week, and I'll keep my eyes peeled. They say the first two batches are already sold out, but I think there will be more, although I'm not sure. From the brewery: New Beer Release: HERESY Heresy, our Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout will be released in draft and bottles the week of July 5 to markets in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This incredibly intriguing Stout is made by aging our Old Heathen to perfection in Oak barrels that were used to aged bourbon. Notes of Oak, whiskey, and vanilla meld beautifully with the roastiness of our Imperial Stout. Supplies are limited, so be sure your store puts some aside for you. The response, chatterwise, in just the last 2 weeks on this beer has been tremendous. Samples have been given to a few beer writers and industry people over the past few weeks and have generated a great deal of interest already. Our first two batches coming out are already presold! We'd like to hear what you think of Heresy as well, so please write us here at the website when you've had a chance to try it. Distribution in other states to follow in the near future, as long as we can make enough of it!

In Reply To #1 Wow! HERESY sounds GREAT! Can hardly wait until Sep, when we are making a family trip to PA. I'll have to find me a SOURCE. I'll be interested in comparing it to the local fav--Old Dominion's Oak Barrel Stout. Commercial Description: Aged in used Bourbon Oak barrels, Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is a lovely, creamy dark beer with a hint of chocolate and a distinctive vanilla, oak and bourbon flavor. Note: aged in bourbon barrels and only available at the brewpub.
