Well, as a HABS fan, I think the Senators and the Flames have the best chances of winning the cup. Not sure if Crosby will win rookie of the year, so many other prospects out there, Ovechkin, Phaneuf... In all I think it's a pretty even field, this should be a good season with alot of teams having a chance at winning it all. [}:)][}:)][}:)]

agreed. and becuase of the even playing field, all 56 canadian teams might make the playoffs, the only wild card being the maple if's. i too think we will have an all canadian stanley cup w/ ottawa and calgary, but out west i think vancouver will be very tough, although i am not as sold on san jose as everyone else. in the east almost every team improved, and the one surprise team that i think will surprise everyone is atlanta. have you seen their roster? go to nhl.com and take a gander.

In no way am I a hockey expert, but I like Calgary's and Philadelphia's chances.

Toronto will surprise a lot of people this year, and make a cup run. My pick would go to them if they can somehow land a top four defenseman.
