Mixed case of 24
Beer Swapping by FLASHPRO
Calling all beer lovers in the Philadelphia area! I participate in a beer club every once in a while that consists of 24 people that chip in to buy 24 cases of beer. Because of the PA case law, this is the only good way to get a variety of good beer at a good price. Right now there is room for about 4 more people to hop on for this "top shelf" mix. The price is $60 each, which means you'll be getting 24 different beers that came from $60+ cases. The same beers would probably cost well over $100 to buy in singles. Usually the way it works is you mail the guy in charge a check, or pay at the Beer Yard, which normally supplies and sorts the cases out for us. If you're interested, let me know ASAP. And you MUST be able to pick up your beer. Don't even think about asking to have it shipped!

Wow, Flash! That's a KILLER CASE! What a great idea! I think I am going to get 24 friends here in the DC area to meet me at Total Beverage in Springfield (see retailer review). Anyone wanna join the Foam Dome Phone Home Kick a Killer Case Club?
A more reasonable first time venture may be to find 12 people. A friend and I did this once. We selected the beer, which saves a lot of time! Using 12 people means you get 2 of each beer, which could be a good or bad thing. And one of the nicer parts is that you only have to come up with half as much money. We put down the money to buy the 12 cases, which was about $300 each! The super case I listed a few days ago costs about $2000 [:0] but the guy in charge is collecting the money in advance. Getting 24 people to actually show up, select beers on location, and pay could be a mess. Even though my friend and I had to split up the 12 cases ourselves, it was worth it. Except for the fact that we had to carry 12 cases down and then back up the two flights of stairs to my old apartment [xx(] in one night.

Yes, picking the Saturday when the majority of 24 can be present is the hard part. However, so far, recruiting has been a breeze! To keep it simple, we're going to pick out the 24 beers in advance and calculate the average cost--that's what everybody chips in (up front). Then we'll mix the cases in the parking lot and pass out flyers to join BeerPal!

Great. I wish my group did that (averaged the cost). Instead, we all pay for the case we selected. I think the intent was to prevent people from picking cases that were grossly over the minimum, but it's not fair at all. The case I picked is $83.95 and the minimum is $65. Speaking of beerpal flyers, Freebird recently came up with the idea of making some. He got the permission of some store managers to post them, so I started working on a flyer.

Flash: Send me the flyers. The FoamDome "Phone Home!" Kick a Killer Case Club is alive and rockin. I talked to the store manager at Total, and he will mix the cases for us and hold the mixed cases in storage for later pickup. This allows each individual who pays the average price in advance to then pick up his case at his convenience. We don't have to show up at the same time! If you live near Springfield, VA, beermail me now while spots are available in the roster. You're getting a great mixed case. Go to my wishlist, sort on date added, and look at the last 24. By buying a mixed case, you're saving $15 over the cost of buying the same beers as singles. What a great idea! We picked up the first batch last night and man, was it ever worth it. Had to reward myself with a quick-chilled ApriHop. [:D] Thanks for making this happen, FoamDome!
