Szot Microcerveceria
Szot Microcerveceria
We hope they have had the opportunity to try our beers "traditional and extreme" made in Chile. We try to avoid using the term "artisanal" - prefer "microbrewery", "traditional" or "boutique" because our investment in equipment, 'know-how' technology and distance us a lot of practical craft. Anyway we are not "industrial" SZOT means "Scots" in Polish. It is not an invention of our marketing department (although it sounds invented, something like Bilz and Pop) - is the surname of one of the owners. Kevin, originally from California, arrived in Chile for work done some 20 years. As often happens with the gringos here, married a Chilean, Karin Astrid, "lived happily" in Chile until the work took them outside the country for a long period. But no, Chile had an impenetrable barrier of industrial beers only one company, but sold with an impressive ... and patriotism as much, there was another imported beer industry (but equally massive, just another country). As foreigners here saying, "Nice country, but the beer sucks" ( "Beautiful country, but the beer is bad"). When we had already heard the same comment also Chileans who had lived outdoors, we thought that was the right time for mount a brewing plant to return definitively to Chile. So we decided starting developing traditional styles of beers that have had more success in the world outside Chile: Pale Ale, Amber Ale, "Steam" (Steamed our Blonde) and Stout, using as a model some of the most successful companies the United States. Of course, our recipes have been edited to give them a touch own, but we try to reflect the qualities that have given them success beers in the U.S. and Europe.
