As Orlando-based Craft Beer Company Evolves, So Does its Name Named for its Flagship Beer, Orange Blossom Pilsner Morphs into the Orange Blossom Brewing Company ORLANDO, Fla. (February 2, 2014) � When Orlando native Tom Moench created his award-winning orange blossom honey beer and christened it Orange Blossom Pilsner [OBP], the moniker also seemed like a perfect fit as the company�s name. Now, nine years and 15,000 barrels later, Moench has rebranded as the Orange Blossom Brewing Company. �With all the exciting beers in the pipeline for release it makes no sense for our company to be named after only one of our beers,� says Moench, president and founder. �OBP is the �flagship beer� for the company, but as we release more and more beers the name change has become obvious.� Moench, a client of the University of Central Florida�s Business Incubator Program, says the first two of several new brews � an India Red Ale and an Heirloom Pale Ale � are expected to be released in the next few months. The beer aficionado, who brewed his first batch of suds at the age of 18, said some other changes already have been implemented at OBBC. �We�ve taken over production of the Brooksville Brewing Company, which has a beautiful Belgian brewery that can make some world-class beer,� he says. �And, we�re going to make some fun beers, available in draft only, for the Central Florida area.� Our Story OBP began in the garage turned brewery of Orlando�s Tom Moench. Tom made all types of beers from traditional beer styles of various specialty beers using ingredients such as fresh coconut, shitake mushrooms, fresh Bing cherries, and ginseng. The most popular beer he produced was his Orange Blossom Pilsner and it proved to be a favorite of his �thirsty� friends.
