Acquired by Rogue Ales in 2000, Issaquah Brewhouse continues to produce its own specialty brews, including its acclaimed Bullfrog Ale. Located in the heart of downtown Issaquah, just 15 miles from Seattle's Space Needle. It expanded into the adjacent Manicure nails shop in 2002 and the Masonic room in 2005 (now called the Lily Pad). The odd shape of the building is due to the Coal train tracks that used to be behind the building. Issaquah Brewery's family of Frogs are created in a 15 barrel brew system, which include Menage-a-Frog, Bullfrog Ale, Hippie Frog Chamomile Ale, Grapefruit Frog, Frog Rye IPA, Summer Frog Wit, Frog in the Rye, Quadruple Frog, Smoked Frog, Kilted Frog, Wicked Frog and MacFrog Scotch Ale. The brewery has garnered 30 awards for taste and quality, including a Bronze medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup for its Frog Rye IPA. ABOUT THE BREWER: Steve Luke started his career in the marketing department at a brewery in Boston. After spending a year on the business end, he decided he liked making beer more than marketing it. Steve Luke has also brewed at Allagash Brewing in Portland, Maine and Cambridge House Brewpubs in Connecticut. He attended the UC Davis Master Brewer's Program in California. Steve lives in Seattle with his beautiful fiancee, whom he keeps perpetually buzzed off Shakespeare Stout so she does not realize what she said 'yes' to.
