Elland Brewery Limited was formed as Eastwood & Sanders (Fine Ales) Limited in April 2002 by the amalgamation of two of Yorkshire's leading micro breweries, the Barge & Barrel Brewery Company based in Elland, and West Yorkshire Brewery, based in Luddendenfoot. By bringing together these two established micro breweries E & S has ensured the continuity of their brewing heritage. The comany name was changed to Elland Brewery Limited in July 2006 to reinforce its close links with the town of Elland. The creation of a new brewery in Elland has guaranteed that Elland Brewry can offer its customers an exceptional range of cask conditioned beers. The brewery now has a capacity to brew 50 barrels per week and the flexibility to offer customers a choice of 10 beers at any one time.
