Our Staff: Managing Partner – Alan Kneidal Executive Chef – David Matey Gerry OConnell – Our Brewmaster Name: Gerry OConnell Hometown: Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland Personal Background: Gerry came to the USA by way of Ireland in 1994. Gerry grew up on an dairy farm and attended the College of Technology in Dublin, Ireland. Gerry’s always had an appreciation for fine ales and lagers. If you are looking for a brewer to talk about the finer points of European League football…Gerry is your man! How I Got Started Crafting Beer: You could say that Gerry began his brewing career working on his family’s dairy farm. It is there he gained a strong work ethic and a working knowledge for sanitation. Gerry first brewing job was as an Apprentice Brewer at Brew Moon Brewery in 1994. He was soon promoted to Head Brewer in 1996 and has been Brewmaster for Brew Moon, now known as Rock Bottom ever since. Brewing Philosophy: Gerry employs a classic brewing style where hops and malts work together in perfect harmony. Favorite Brew: Big Foot Stout and Patriot Pale Ale Favorite Quote: Never trust a man who does not drink.
