We took a small portion of our regular Husker Red Rye and boiled the heck out of it and added more hops. The result is a high-gravity Imperial Red Rye – nice spicy undertones from the 30% rye and loads of hop bitterness, flavor, and aroma from generous use of Centennial, Falconer’s Flight, and Zythos hops. This one will sneak up on you, so beware!

Comes out of the tap a barely translucent mahogany with a thick and fine-bubbled pale wheat head. Malty aroma has some hoppy, rye and fruity hints. Flavor has a strong rye note plus fruity (mainly apple, some pear), woody hops and horehound notes. Smooth, fizzy texture leaves a sweet, malty and woody finish. This brewski is rye-ght on!
