A collaboration with Eddie from Ale Yeah. It is an American Strong ale that has elements of Russian Imperial, Barleywine, Double IPA, and Strong Belgian. Not as roasty as an RIS, not as malty as a barleywine, not as hoppy as a Double IPA, and not as much home made candi syrup as a Belgian strong. The 84 IBUs from Summit, Columbus, and Falconer’s are enough to balance the 9.4% ABV without being overly bitter and we added a touch of Nelson Sauvin for a touch of gooseberry / grapefruit aroma.

    Comes out of the tap a deep, warm sable, more like a porter or stout, with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Robust aroma has malty, caramel, licorice and subtle hoppy notes. Hearty flavor is quite smoky, with caramel, licorice, roast malt and subtle hoppy and citrus notes. Is this a strong ale, or a stout, or a porter? Whoa, has quite the alcohol nip! Thick, smooth texture leaves a hoppy and smoky finish. Patrol this border!
