Ebony-colored with glimmers of crimson deep within, ripe aromas of roast grains, a smooth and powerful palate with unmistakable alcoholic pungency. A bow to old English "keeping ales", historically brewed well in advance of weddings, christenings, and even in anticipation of the crownings of kings and queens. Awarded a Bronze Medal in the Strong Ales category, 1993 Great American Beer Festival. Original gravity: 1.070; Alcohol by weight: 5.6%. Grains: Premium pale malted barley, Munich malt, crystal malt, roasted barley; Hops: Fuggle, Cascade, Willamette.
