For the third year in a row, our brew team has created an aged sour ale featuring our beloved Pearson Peaches. Perhaps the tartest beer in our lineup, we age this beer for nearly six months in order to achieve a layered complexity far beyond what a kettle-sour might produce. It's one of those "it's ready when it's ready" beers, made with a tremendous amount of care. Part of our Wild Wild Heaven Innovation Series, this is a mixed fermentation ale brewed with real Pearson Farm peaches, and refermented with the natural yeasts occurring on the skins of those very same peaches. This is as Georgia as it gets! Originally called Fortress of Sourtude as a tribute to our friends at comic book bar My Parents Basement, then the sequel was Fortress of Sour Two and now how about we just settle in to a long-term name of Fortress of Sour? Sounds about right!

Pours hazy topaz with a frothy eggshell head. Aroma offers sour and slightly sweet peach with tropical and citrus hints, on a raw malt foundation. Flavor delivers tart and sour peach, salty, subtle tropical and citrus notes, a little sweetness, a little malt. Texture provides decent body and perky fizz. A peach of a sour.
