Galaxy Hopped Barleywine is a new take on an old favorite. This beer pours a dark crimson, almost mahogany color. The yeast and & Galaxy Hops™ deliver a big bang of red and yellow fruit aromatics like banana, pineapple, cherry, and strawberry. The experience begins with a taste of toffee and darkened sweet caramel overlaid on subtle tones of vanilla, all to be punctuated by the floral and citrus dry hop character.

A deep amber colored beer with a small soapy textured white head rising briefly above. Settles into a thin ringlet. The nose is of fruit and oak. Resin-citric hops dominate the tasting in a pleasant way. Medium bodied and slick on the tongue

slightly overpriced in Widmer's Reserve line, but a nice traditional american hoppy barleyeine. high ibus, obvious hopping (so much so that the candi sugar nearly goes unnoticed) but there is a little balance between the hoppiness and carmel sweetness. medium-full bodied, with ample carbonation. nice brew. evident alcohol heat in the nose especially prevents an even higher score.
