This is a very old name in Wisconsin and apparently the Northwood's folks picked it up and started brewing it again. Very reminiscent of Shlitz or Pabst, grainy, grassy and a little sour. Not remarkable but if you are into history then give it a try.

I picked up a sample on the way out, thinking a pale lager couldn't be too much worse than any of the "craft" offerings I sampled from Northwoods. This is a very inoffensive, plain beer.

Actually the first beer i tried during my visit. Poured a clear golden with a light frothy top. Grainy with a very subtle hint of lemon toward the finish. a nod to the hops in the aroma, but in the end, it ends up being no more tasteful then any other PL.
