A winter warmer and ideal companion for the mythological travelers and pub dwellers of Middle-Earth, this classic old ale, aged in PX sherry barrels, is full-bodied and rich with the aroma and flavor of dark fruit, caramel, and the intense complexities of sherry and oak.

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
pours opaque coffee brown with a fairly persistent tan head. Aroma delivers rich notes of sherry, roast malt, cherry, plum and a caramel plus a snip of oak. Flavor roars across the palate, a thundering herd of sherry, dark fruit, roast malt, caramel and oak plus a touch of toffee. Viscous mouthfeel provides good if not outstanding effervescence. Fantastic!
