Sour Asylum #11 Blacklisted is our newest and one of the most unique releases from our series of lacto-fermented beers. More tart than sour and matured on blackcurrant and fresh rosemary, this tart dark ale has a distinct deep brownish plum color and aroma notes of rosemary, berries and roasted chocolate. The dark malts and blackcurrant combine to produce an underlying tannic structure similar to wine that adds complexity and balance to the light acidity and earthy sweetness. This unique experience ends with an aftertaste that is fresh, dry and sharply cleansing.

Taps opaque coffee brown with a serviceable light tan head. Looks more like a stout than a porter. Aroma delivers herbal, dark fruit and semi-sweet chocolate notes. Flavor features tart plum, herbal, berry, toasted malt and chocolate for a distinctive brew. Finish is crisp and fruity, body is fairly firm, fizz is dynamic. Don’t blacklist this one - pucker up and enjoy!
