Somewhere in the distance we hear the pounding of native drums. Was it in our minds? We don’t know. What we do know is that we made a salted caramel barley wine, put it in bourbon barrels for 12 months, and added vanilla beans and cocoa nibs. Taste the scrumptiousness.

12oz bottle pours with a murky mohagany colored body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up molasses mixed with caramel and then boozy bourbon flowing into toffee and then booze burdened vanilla. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet caramel and molasses that quickly picks up boozy bourbon. To midway the caramel turns a bit more toffee like as booze drenched vanilla meekly pokes just above the noticeable flavor level. Overall this is a solid rewarding sipper where the booze influence is there but "restrained" for this beer's huge ABV.
