Half liter bottle pours very dark with mahogany edges and modest tan head. The aroma is mild with some dark roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, black licorice and a dash of earthiness. The taste begins a bit thin yet pretty darn smooth. I get a multitude of notes like burnt malts, caramel, earthiness, chocolate, peat and black licorice. Wow! Complex notes achieving a degree of harmony too. It remains that way until the finish where earthiness and peat seem to persist as the rest of the flavors fade away. Cool brew.
