A medium-light body and a freshly-ground caramel malt flavor with no bitterness. The combination of American caramel malt and the finest Kent Goldings hops from England add an inviting "noble" flavor and aroma. IBU 16, OG 13.4 P

As a home brewer I am really impressed how they captured just the caramel malted barley flavor. Initially I thought the beer was too malty, but then I began to appreciate the simple purity of it. Don't think I could drink a lot of these at one time but if you ever want to taste malt over hops this should do it. Thanks to Mr. King for another oHIo beer I likely would not have found out about.

On draft while out to dinner. Amber body with a creamy light tan head and ample lacing. Caramel, bread, and mildly fruity aroma. Light to medium bodied, fairly basic. Flavor never seemed to develop, mostly mild malts with a touch of caramel and nuts. Lacking seems to fit just right with this simple beer. I'm regretful that I didn't go with the Founders Reds Rye.//////////// March of 2013.....picked up a sixer, and these bottles are a couple steps above the original review. Lots of bread, caramel and a hint of brown sugar. Tasty, drinkable beer.
