We made this wonderful beer for our anniversary. But the beer decided it could care less about dates and didn’t finish until way after. I guess you can’t rush a good thing. This Belgian style red rye is aged and soured in French Oak Cabernet barrels with strawberries and vanilla beans.

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Pours slightly hazy chestnut with a thick eggshell head. Aroma presents strong fruity tones of strawberry (big surprise here, ha ha!), wine and apple supported by malt and yeast notes. Flavor is a zymurgic tutti frutti, presenting strawberry, apple, grape (wine) and subtle pear tones, while malt and yeast play supporting roles. Mouthfeel features OK body and some good fizz. Happy 1.5-ish anniversary, The Unknown! May you be Known at least to your 15-ish anniversary - hell, Bacchus willing, to at least your 150-ish anniversary!
