A great looking pour leads to an abundant aroma that filled the air. Very dark and thick with a huge brown head. Oak, bourbon, vanilla, mixed berries, chocolate, leather, toast, and bran cereal are all in abundance and share the floor in friendly fashion. Fairly sweet and extremely thick, the mouth feel was very nice but the sticky sweetness was a tad too firm. Amazing sipper." ///////// update 8-9-2013: Beer is in wonderful form currently....extremely mellow now. Flavors have blended, but still produce a robustness that livens the palate.

a sweet, bourbony aroma and a thick viscous body still give no hint that this beer is nearly 15% alcohol. a touch lower in complexity than the base beer, but an improvement everywhere else. Delicious blend of sweet malts, vanilla, oak, a bit of peppery goodness.
