The rhinoceros may not be the king of the jungle, but he commands respect nonetheless. Powerful and distinctive, Telegraph Rhinoceros pays homage to one of the world’s most majestic and endangered creatures. Brewed with a hefty dose of rye malt and balanced by a ridiculous amount of hops, our "rye wine" is truly a unique beast. Be careful... this rhino may seem mellow at first, but is known to charge unexpectedly!

unique? yes. but give me a barleywine or wheatwine over this. maybe just slightly flawed in the execution, but it ended up a little light on the body and far too fruity to take too seriously. easy drinking and even refreshing...but those aren't really things i look for in a barleywine :)

Sampled on tap on 6/3/2011 at Bruery Provisions. This Barleywine pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, malty and sweet. A medium to full bodied Barleywine. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice carbonation. Touch of rye spiciness. Fairly smooth taste. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
