Telegraph Obscura Arborea is an ale brewed in the style of Belgium's Oude Bruin, the famous Flanders Sour Brown Ales. Our wild brown ale has a malty character suggesting dark caramel and dried fruit, and is balanced by a refreshing lactic tartness from the wild yeast used during aging. Cherry-like aromas and a hint of oak round out this sensory experience and make for an extremely satisfying and unique beer. Proost! Limited availability.

cork was possessed, did all the work by itself- also almost put a hole in the g-man ceiling .. . Pours a deep brown .. light foam, light sticky lacing .. . like an interesting take on the flanders brown mixed with a dirty american wild .. . pond water, funk, brown, syrup, and insane molasses .. . mouth is super fizzy, this stuff .. . . Oh I enjoy all the popular youth trends like uh.. piloting motor coaches and uuuh... collecting dog waste!

Sampled on 10/1/2011. Batch 77. This sour/wild ale pours a slightly cloudy reddish orange color from a corked and caged 750ml bottle. Large sized beige foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, cherry and tart with a touch of oak. A medium bodied sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity, cherry, sweet and tart with a touch of oak. The hops are herbal and earthy. There is a touch of oak and a mild tartness throughout. Lively carbonation. Nice balance of fruit, sweet, tart and wood. A nice representation of a Flanders Brown ale. The tartness comes out and the beer gets a whole lot funkier as it warms. I really like the wild/sour ale from Telegraph. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly tart.
