A wide open Old Ale, The Gimp gags up Alc. 10.3% by Vol. and is bred to be stashed in a Dank dark cellar only to be brought out for your most “special” guests! This full-bodied Gimp gives off sweet scents of caramel and toffee and, as legend has it,warm undertones of malt and alcohol balanced by low voltage doses of hops delivering a SHOCKER you’ll actually wan t to receive. Don’t keep The Gimp’s leash too tight, as he will mellow with age and become more experienced the longer he stays locked up in the cellar. Bring out The Gimp!

Aroma slightly fruity and herbal. Obviously malt heavy but not obviously an old ale. Enjoyable, but like a lot of Sweetwater beers, not great. Shows the abv but was pleasant enough. My namesake beer after running my first 5k after 2 hip surgeries.

Comes out of the growler a clear dark sienna with a fairly thick, though not persistent, light tan head. Malty aroma has faint fruity and hoppy hints. Flavor is - HOLY COW, now that is one ferocious alcohol bite! This is a pit bull among beers! Once you get past that, it has roast malt and caramel notes with a fruity hint. Rough tough texture leaves a moderate fizz and some malt and caramel. This beer is not, repeat, NOT for the faint of heart. Sip it slowly, lest the next morning your head feels like the Death Star after Luke Skywalker got to it!
