Appealing in the glass with minor lacing. Slightly sweet with definite malt first taste. Could use a bit more alcohol for a Scottish Ale but the after taste is rich with a hint of spice. Enjoyable new addition to the Strawn brewery. Worth another pint.

Pours a rich, barely transparent chocolate brown with a buttery tan head. Malty aroma has strong notes of caramel and chocolate. Flavor fills the mouth with malty, caramel and fruity notes and a hint of chocolate. Firm, fizzy texture completes a very enjoyable beer. Surely worth 80 shillings - or more.
