2002 was the first vintage, it won a GABF gold in 2003. Utilizes English 2 row and English Crystal malts; hopped with Bullion, Northern Brewer, and Goldings hops.

The 2003 is especially special to brewer Ric Hoffman, as his daughter was born on the second brew day, 10/21/03.

The recipe for all barleywines is relatively the same. We just keep adding more grain.

[02, 03, 05 vintages sampled] Poured an amber brown color with off white bubbles that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malts, dried fruits, cherries, wood, nuts, grassy hops, and alcohol. Taste of dried fruits, tart citrus, sweet sticky malts, with medium bitterness, and light alcohol. The 03 exhibited some cardboard with some green apple as well.
