Our single malt Scotch Ale is truly a big beer! We use one variety of malt, a portion of which was smoked at our brewery. It has a rich caramel and toffee fullness, balanced by a mild hop bitterness.

Exceptional execution of a Scottish Ale... a type that can be tough to get right. Deep mahagony when drawn with a single-finger head. Smokey aroma of roasted malt and toffee. Medium to high medium bodied. Flavors match aromas, slightly sweet. Just a barely imperceptible hint of bitterness at the finish.

Sampled at GABF on 9/18/2010. This Scotch Ale pours a medium amber brown color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and sweet, bready and smoky. A medium bodied Scotch Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice carbonation. Nice Scotch Ale, hints of peat and smoke, with not a lot of sweetness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Amber colored with a thin off-white head. Light aromas of roasted malt. Sweet, smooth solid malt flavors. Just a hint of smoky chocolate. Very nice, indeed. MUSIC: 'Scotch and Chocolate' by Nickel Creek

A very impressive ale from a brewery that continues to impress with each new beverage. Lightly smokey, very malty and sweet but not even close to cloying. For being a big beer (this has to be over 8% without much trouble) yet is extremely smooth. Lower carbonation, small cap of head over an earthy brown, slightly hazy pour for just the right effect. Well done.
