Barley Legal Barley Wine ABV-12% Feeling the pressure of competition from continental wines, English brewers took beer to a new level: Barley Wine. Many brewed ales that were essentially maltier, hoppier IPA’s. We decided to explore the world of Stout. The nearly excessive fermentation balances well with the bitter-sweet flavors of Roasted and Chocolate malts, a sensation reminiscent of quality red wine. When brewed just below 12%, this beer barely avoids the legal title of “wine”.
