Silver City Brewery is proud to present this limited bottling of our very own British style barley wine ale. Old Scrooge is a rich and malty ale with all the character of a fine wine. Intriguing notes of apple, cherry and apricot occur naturally as a result of its unique fermentation and extended aging. To fully appreciate this special Christmas Ale, we recommend serving it in a brandy glass near 55 F and savored slowly.

Bomber from Haggen/Meridian. Clear, ruby-hued pour under almost no head, just a tiny beige ring. Aroma was not much of anything, maybe alcohol and malt, but what else? Mildly flavoured for a barleywine, not bad not not superior. Improved as the temperature rose to show some caramel at the finish along with the alcohol. Minimal bitterness. Damned nice mouthfeel, though, buttery smooth.
