I balked at the price, not having been a fan of the base beer the one time I had it...but I know my rating was possibly for a bad bottle. Anyway, in the mood for a deep, malty brew - this hit the spot. The barreling is light, not overpowering, but adding to, the complexity of the beer. Chocolate, vanilla, fruit both from the beer and the barrels, oak, slight peat. Intriguing aroma and flavor. Smooth as hell. I'm surprised at this - may have to give the base another shot.
