2013 version - deep ruby/orange pour with minimal carbonation. Intoxicating aromas of citrus, mainly orange and grapefruit with a sweet malt backbone. Intensely bitter with strong orange forward tastes and a pleasant citrus sourness. Incredibly unique yet not something I'd have more than a bottle of. At 11% ABV, that's not a bad thing and this is worth a try.

Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This barleywine pours a medium brown color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, caramel, oranges and sweet. Medium bodied Barleywine/wheatwine. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet, lots of oranges. The hops are herbal. Nice balance. A strange combination of flavors for sure, but somehow they work well together. Lots of orange rind flavor at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
