A unique, extremely strong, and complex beer served in a 10.5 oz glass, known as barley wine. Barley Wines get their name from old laws, which stated an alcohol beverage that is over 7% alcohol is classified as a wine. Since no grapes are used "barley" wine became the name. A perfect beer to warm up to, in the heart of winter, to celebrate the season. Bourbon-aged in 15 year-old Elijah Craig barrels.

Fairly dry barleywine, plenty of mixed fruits, cereal, caramel and biscuits. Floral hops are plentiful. Nicely aged and blended into a smooth sipper. Wasn't overly thrilled with the barrel aging on this one, it was nice but seemed a bit out of place at times. Overall it's a very enjoyable bottle.
