Orange, lactic, and bursting with apricot aroma, West Ashley is built for consideration and conversation. While Ashley starts as a simple Saison, careful aging in French Oak Pinot Noir barrels with apricots, our house microbes, and warm encouragement transform her into a tart, complex and delectable beer.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Tasted at the 8th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on Nov 9, 2013. This wild ale pours a cloudy yellow gold color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, apricot and funky. A medium bodied wild ale. The malts are fruity, tart and sweet. The hops are earthy. Tart and fruity, funky and sweet. The tartness builds as you go. Nice apricots flavors, not too sweet. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.
