    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

750 ml bottle, with a in red wax cap, bottle 143/152, lot 12/12/2012. Poured in a snifter an unfiltered and cloudy amber-red copper coloured B W with a short one finger beige foamy head that had no retention and some micro bubbles. No carbonation. No lacing. The aroma is heavy sweety and caramel malts, dried fruits, dates, figs, apricots, raisins, a nutty touch and woody notes. The flavour is sweety malts, caramel, honey, dried fruits, apricots, dates, figs. The mouthfeel is sparkling, quite fulled, sweety and sticky. The texture is oily. This full bodied Barley Wine has a long dried fruits and malty finish. The aftertaste is, as expected, warming. The imposing 12 % ABV is well hidden. I don't find any hoppy bitterness. The big 750 ml bottle is to be shared with friends. It's too much for a single taster.
