It's here! Our latest brew Dedicated to Beards, Beard Beer is brewed with a yeast created from Brewmaster John Maier's Beard. No Need to freak out, Brewers have used wild yeasts in beer making for centuries. John has had the same Old Growth Beard since 1983 and for over 15,000 brews, so it is no great surprise that a natural yeast ideal for brewing was discovered in his beard. What does Beard Beer taste like? Try it, we think you'll be surprised...

i'm not grossed out by this (hell, i love weasel shit beer) but that stuff has a point. this is a gimmick, and just a gimmick. Can't say it was bad, but nothing special. Smells like a slightly wild belgian ale, bubble gum and spices. Yeast dominates. Slight sweet flavor. Thin body. Had a sample, and that was good enough :)

Certainly not a wild ale, probably some paceman yeast in his beard if I were a betting man. It's a sweetish Pilsner from what I can taste, malty with light hops. It's also a cloudy yellow beer with typical head. Not bad for an afternoon football game but here's a spoiler, the beard thing is just a gimmick.

From a guy’s BEARD? Too wild! I love it! Pours a beautiful, slightly hazy golden with a fairly thick and fluffy buff head. Aroma is mainly yeasty - no beard smell, thankfully ;) - with a fruity underpinning and a hint of fresh malt. Mouth-filling flavor pleases with fruity, yeasty, woody and malt notes. Finish is yeasty with a hint of hoppy bitterness, while texture is firm and somewhat fizzy. OK, what’s next for Rogue?

A bold orange-sunshine in color with a big frothy textured off white head rising robustly above. There was a great hang time with the head settling into clingy splotches aside the glass and thick cap atop the body. The nose is bold yeasty sourness. The tasting more of the same with some caramel malt thrown in. Light and crisp. Refreshing.
