Our 2017 Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout was aged for 9 months in hand made Rolling Thunder Barrel Works barrels previously used to age our Dead Guy Whiskey. This limited, one-of-a-kind imperial stout can be enjoyed right away or cellared for years, but either way it's best shared among friends. It “features deep sherry notes accentuated by hints of coconut, cherries, dark fruit and vanilla held up against a dark roasted malt backbone with earthy hops.” Weighing in at a massive 14% ABV, the 2017 vintage of Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout is bigger and bolder than the inaugural 2016 release.

Came in what is technically a bottle, but a growler in actuality. Pours barely translucent chocolate brown with a thick, though not lasting, tan head. Aroma delivers roasted malt, whisky, woody, quality coffee, and a little molasses. Bold flavor offers all of these plus dark fruit and vanilla. This is a beer to be slowly sipped and savored - especially with a sky-high ABV. Mouthfeel presents good body and fizz. Will roll like thunder down your gullet.
